Rafting on the Colorado River
The Colorado River is one of the classic rivers in the United States.
Starting high in the Colorado Rockies, and eventually flowing through
the Grand Canyon, the Colorado is the setting for some of the most
beautiful scenery in the world.
A Colorado River rafting trip is the most wonderful way to explore
this mighty river. Highside Adventure Tours creates customized Colorado
River rafting trips that are perfect for families, first timers and
children. A memorable Colorado River rafting trip is a great
way for the whole family to experience the wonders of the Colorado
high country.
For the most part, the upper portion of the river is calm, gently
flowing between the walls of Little Gore Canyon and Red Rocks Canyon.
Along this stretch are spectacular views and rich history, including
natural hot springs, dinosaur tracks, great swimming holes and old
pioneer cabins. Plenty of time for swimming and relaxing – and
our famous BBQ lunch -- make this a really fun family trip and a
great way to spend a perfect day river rafting in Colorado.
Although mostly a relaxing float trip, there are also a few class
II rapids to add a little excitement to your day rafting on the Colorado
River. But if you’re a Colorado River whitewater rafting thrill
seeker looking for a more challenging Colorado River white water
rafting trip, please see our Arkansas and Clear
Creek River pages.
New This Year: Inflatable Kayak Trips! Our
new inflatable kayaks (nicknamed “Duckies”) allow you
to be the captain of your own one or two man "raft", and
