What to Bring Riding
When you explore Colorado’s high country by horseback, you’ll see first-hand Colorado’s amazing fall colors, bright spring wildflowers and wide-open blue skies. Horseback riding is an excellent way to travel along our mountain trails, and like all other Colorado activities, horseback riding requires a little preparation.
When you set out on a Colorado horseback ride, you’ll be most comfortable if you’re wearing the proper clothing. We’ll take care of all the horseback equipment, but read below to find out how to be best prepared for your next Colorado horseback ride.
What to Wear on Your Colorado Horseback Riding Adventure
- For having fun in the saddle, long pants are recommended.
- Wearing closed-toe shoes on all horseback rides helps prevent injuries to your feet.
- No matter the weather, try to wear clothing made from woven materials such as wool, polypro, fleece, micro fleece, polyester and any other outdoor material that breathes.
- Helmets are required and provided for all horseback riding adventures; baseball caps fit easily under helmets.
Long rain jackets that cover you from head to toe are provided on all horseback trips.
